Coomba Falls normally rockpools fed by a trickle of water.

We made a quick visit to Coomba Falls near Maidenwell on the way home to Kingaroy. On Sunday afternoon we drove through Esk and were stopped by flooded roads at Toogoolawah. We made the decision to turn back and head to higher ground by going through Gatton and Towoomba. By late afternoon we had driven through Towoomba but were once again stopped by floodwaters at Crows Nest and spent the evening at the Crows Nest Caravan Park. Early Monday morning the 10th of January we headed for home after listening to constant rain during the night. Information ahead was given from a council worker who said the only way back was through the higher streets of Nanango. Thankfully we made it through as we later found out that four hours afterwards Nanago too was cut off by flooding.
