REVIEW - CON-AIR

Con -Air would have to be one of the most action packed movies I've seen in a long time, although the story line was a little unbelivable at times it was compensated by the action and the special F.X.The casting was great, Nicolas Cage played the goodie turned crim turned hero, anyone who seen Cage in The Rock would understand why he was cast in Con-Air. All the Actors who played the crims where well cast with Hollywoods meanest, stranest and ugliest actors cast into the roles. The movie contains a serious side along with the action, the writer has alos included a very dry sense of humor which works very well, just when you think the scene is getting rough in pops a joke. Don't miss Con -Air which is now playing at both The Roxy Cinema and Huskission Cinema. Rating 4 out of 5

The Law and the Internet

The tiny legal firm of Peter Long & Co recently bested chemical giant ICI in the class action helix-contamination suit. Based in Gunnedah in north-western NSW, the firm kept its' clients in touch with the case over the Web. Mr Long, who was representing some 500 individual Australian farmers scattered over an area half the size of Western Europe, says he could never have afforded the thousands of extra dollars to regularly contact them by mail or phone. Individual farmers accessed case information on the Net from home, friend's houses, relatives, local libraries, even via fax from children with Internet access at University. The Web site was maintained by the firm's librarian and an associate.

Judges in the English Court of Appeal have praised the pioneering efforts of the Australian Legal Information Institute (AustLII). AustLII's site makes available both parliament-made law (statutes) and the decisions of various Australian courts (case-law). All this data includes cross-links between related information. The information is available for free to both lawyers and non-lawyers and is the most up-to-date and comprehensive legal resource in Australia. Decisions of the High Court of Australia can be published online within 2 hours of being handed down.
