WELCOME!
Most Bushfires in Australia occur during the
'Bush Fire Danger Period' which extends from
October 1st through to March 31st. Fires are started in a variety of ways
such as....motor vehicle accidents setting adjacent bush alight, power lines,
lightning strikes, careless campers, machinery sparks...and unfortunately
some are deliberately lit.
The Rural Fire Service has people from all over Australia who sacrifice their time to combat this hazard.
The Cunjurong/Manyana Brigade, along with sister
brigade, Bendalong, has to deal with one of the worst areas, where 'SECTION
44' fires are a frequent occurrence.
