If you are interested in tracing your family
history,
help is at hand from the Shoalhaven Family
History Society Inc.
We offer to members:
The SHOALHAVEN FAMILY HISTORY SOCIETY INC. was
formed in 1985 to promote and encourage the study and preservation of family
history,
genealogy and allied subjects. It is a dynamic
society, able to offer to members the use of an extensive collection of genealogical
resource material
as well as a fund of skill and expertise.
It is also a friendly group. Members exchange
information with each other; those with special skills share their knowledge at
workshops and panel
discussions such as using computers for family
history.
The Shoalhaven Family History Society Inc; is
incorporated under the NSW Associations Incorporation Act.
And is a member of the NSW & ACT
Association of Family History Societies.
The Society’s meetings are held at the Research
Centre, Greenwell Point Rd Pyree. They are normally held on the first
Friday of the month (except January) commencing
at 7.30pm.
However the winter meetings, June, July August
and September are held on the
first Saturday of the month commencing at
1.30pm.
Some meetings have guest speakers who have
expertise in various areas of genealogy and family history.

Turn off the Princes Highway onto Kalander St at
the traffic lights at the Archer Resort (Kalander St becomes Greenwell Point
Rd).
This turn is indicated by the signs to
Greenwell Point and Currarong. Proceed on
9 Klms
till you come to the intersection with the road to
you will see on the right, the Pyree Literary
Institute, then the rooms used by the Potters followed by our Research Centre
in the Old School.
