FRIDAY, 7th NOV 2008:                   7.30pm Research Centre Pyree

General Meeting. Birthday meeting. Forum on research into – Aboriginal, Scottish, Queensland and Military

family history. Every one bring along a plate for supper. 

 

SATURDAY 8th NOV 2008              11am Terara Public School, Millbank Rd Terara

                                                            Dedication of a memorial to the De Mestre Family at the school. A reunion of descendants of Prosper & Mary Ann De Mestre

                                                            will be held at the Pyree Hall, Greenwell Point Rd, Pyree at 2.30pm onwards. All Welcome, especially anyone with a connection to De Mestre.

                                                            Our research centre will be open during this time.

 

SATURDAY 15th NOV 2008:           1.30pm Research Centre Pyree

                                                            Cinntamani Party, come along and look at the wonderful gift ideas at great prices. A great opportunity to get those Christmas gifts

and enjoy afternoon tea.

 

SATURDAY 22nd NOV 2008:          6.30pm at “On a Wing and a Pear” Restaurant, corner of Berry and Junction Sts Nowra

                                                            Our Christmas Dinner! Cost will be $35 for a 3 course, two choice menu with tea or coffee. The Society will provide wines for the tables

                                                            But if you have a preference for any other alcohol it will be BYO. We need at least 30 people for this deal to be valid.

                                                            It will be necessary to RSVP by 30th October for booking purposes. Last year everyone had a great time so don’t miss out.

General Meeting. Christmas party – every one bring along a plate and a Christmas story.

 

 

Don’t forget our Christmas Hamper; the first basket is at Pyree waiting to be filled with goodies. Now is a good time to be buying toys and other items to contribute to our largest fund raiser for the year. If you are able to sell tickets at IGA or other venues during the later days of November and early December, please contact our secretary and let her know that you are willing to help. Remember without funds we cannot buy all those lovely new research resources that are becoming available regularly. When the tickets go on sale we hope you will be able to take a book to sell amongst you friends.
